About
I'm Jack, the person behind Firmin Design. I've always cared about what makes something look good. I love clean design, good typography and getting the little details right, but I also don't want everything to feel like just another tidy website. I like finding ways to add personality and creativity while still keeping things polished and professional.
For me, a website has to do more than just look nice. It should feel like it belongs to the business it was made for and communicate what makes that business different.

If I can't do something one way, I'll find another.
A lot of the way I think comes from my own life. When I was 15, I had a spinal cord injury that completely changed it. I had to learn how to do things differently and adapt to a new way of living. It wasn't easy, but it taught me to look for different ways around a problem — something that now carries over into how I approach my work.
I've also been incredibly lucky to have friends and family who've supported me, lifted me up and kept me grounded along the way. That's something I want to bring into the way I work with my clients too. I want people to feel supported throughout the process and know that we're working together, rather than simply handing something over at the end.
That's really where the thinking behind Firmin Design comes from. I want to create websites that are clean, professional and creative, but most importantly, feel like they belong to the businesses they're made for. I want the process to feel personal, collaborative and enjoyable for both of us.
What I believe
Strip away what isn't needed and make the important things obvious.
Every business is different. Its website should feel like it belongs to it.
There's rarely only one solution. Good design should respond to the people and problems it's built around.
If you've got an idea, a business, or simply something you'd like to improve, I'd love to hear about it.
